Custom Air Questos Designed To Get You Talking

Posted on 08/05/2008

New York City - August 1st, 2008.  The first jump off in celebration of the ?uestlove collaboration with Nike for his very own Air Force 1 sneaker went down this past Friday at the ALIFE Rivington Club in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.  We had been hearing reports that fans and collectors were gathering and apparently camping (literally) outside the store since Tuesday for the release of the shoe.  ?uest came through himself to greet fans, sign shoe boxes, congratulate lucky winners of the super limited golden toed versions, and rock a set on the turntables.  Before all that, the Afro sat down with MaZe of Kix And The City for an exclusive video interview (below) concerning the design process, his sneaker passion, and how having his own AF1 is better than winning a Grammy.  (WHOA) Specifically, ?uest discusses the "conversation piece" angle adding that there is "no such thing as a bad shoe."  He pretty much summed it up by saying "I wanted my arrival in the sneaker world to be just the most outlandish, gargantuan set of explanation points... EVER.  It is is very unorthodox.  A very crazy shoe."

Quest, I saw you in the urb interview about this sneaker. The visuals of you that were playing behind yourself in the concert remind me of George Duke, which is very prolific comparision to me because I am huge fan and have lots of respect for George Duke and yourself.
