The last 12 months for Isaiah Thomas have been rough

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Isaiah Thomas has been traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, according to ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Cavs are trading Thomas, Channing Frye, and their first-round pick to the Lakers for guard Jordan Clarkson and forward Larry Nance, Jr.

What makes this move interesting is that Thomas was the centerpiece of the Kyrie Irving trade with the Boston Celtics that occurred last summer. However, Thomas spent most of his time with the Cavs still recovering from an injury that occurred during his time with the Celtics.

When he finally came back, Thomas struggled to fit in with LeBron James and was a liability on both sides of the court. Making matters worse is the fact that Cavs have been struggling recently, and Thomas has been openly critical of teammates and coaching decisions. Things got so toxic between Thomas and the Cleveland community, the Cavs had to turn off the comments on an IG post dedicated to him after it got blasted with hate:

Happy birthday, @isaiahthomas! 🎈

Thomas only played 15 games with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

One thing that makes this truly tragic for Thomas is that just last night the guard said he liked playing in Cleveland and that he’s “tired of being traded.”

The game is cold.
