(Prose : 2008)

Just when it seems like every popular rap album these days is full of simplistic synths and huge, dance-driven hooks, the underground seems just as guilty, flooding their records with the Golden Age-revivalist attitude. And...

Tanya Morgan Take It To The Bridge

Posted by Sean Kantrowitz on 08/04/2008

With their latest release, The Bridge EP, garnering the group more attention than ever before, and their recent addition as opening act for indie hip-hop legends Hieroglyphics, it looks like another one of our own is on the cusp of breaking into a new sphere of success. Tanya Morgan is on the grind, having come a long way since the trio first linked up through Okayplayer's message boards.

Gemstones interviews.
If you ask any rapper to come out of Chicago in the last 15 years, they can tell you how much of a hustle it is to break out. Skillz interviews.

Rick Ross discussion.
Topic: In light of all the foolery that has been surrounding Rick Ross' past of late, a question that has been around since Hip-Hop's conception comes up. Does it really matter if a rapper's real life and rap life don't match up?

I'm Through With White Girls Small stories.
A romantic comedy that's not as centered around the title as you may think, I'm Through with White Girls (The Inevitable Undoing of Jay Brooks) is a literate tale of two misfits drawn together through their personal quirks and cigarettes. Read more about this film.
