The Round-Up: Best Songs of The Week - ft. Anderson .Paak, Emily King, Jon Bap, and More [Playlist]

Anderson .Paak Teases Collbartion w/ Kendrick Lamar

Re-up alert

Good Friday, good people. Hope we all got to the other end of Carter V and nothing called YANDHI free of any intellectual atrophy (at best) or trauma (at worst.) Whatever's left may best be directed towards the Senate and this shit-pile Kavanaugh vote (thoughts and prayers?) Release day's been a boundless distraction. T.I.'s DIME TRAP barrels in with hallmark drawl and a metric ton of features, Kelela's TAKE ME APART remix project spotlights a singular voice through myriad electronic experiments. Ghostface Killah opted to scratch the nostalgic itch for dusty soul flips with The Lost Tapes. Vanessa Zamora reintroduced herself as Mexico City's psychedelic soul maven on the sophomore stunner, Tornaluna. Sheck Wes tremored onto the main stage with his brooding debut, MUDBOY.

And the singles were their own beast. Anderson .Paak and (labelmate) Kendrick Lamar two-stepped out of the summer with their prescriptive (doctor-approved) "Tints." Emily King returned to the world as a gust of soulful poptimism on "Remind Me." Jon Bap and Anna Wise helmed a skittering anthem with their latest loosie "Up," while Jessie Ware, Kid Enigma, and Devin Tracy deliver the week's dose of heavenly house heat.
