3. Jay Electronica “Dimethyltryptamine” [Goldwatch alternate version]
Goldwatch again! More to the point, Jay Electronica in Kathmandu with lasers shooting out of his eyes, which is all you could really ask from a music video, in my opinion. In all the excitement and label change-ups, this 2009 on-location video for Jay Elec’s brilliant 2007 song was never approved and only saw the light of the day when premiered on this very site in 2011 and here we are. With it’s Golden Child-gone wrong dreamstate it would be wrong to say that this video is a visually recreates the song “Dimethyltryptamine.” This video visually recreates the drug dimethyltryptamine, which Jay Elec was on when he wrote the song “Dimethyltryptamine.”
It is criminal that this countdown does not mention Clap (One Day) by Pharoahe Monch
say what you want about the guy, but Yonkers by Tyler, The Creator i think should be the video of the year on every list, OFWGTA would not be where they are now without it

That “I got so much trouble on my mind” video is nowhere near as good. They just put it up because they feel it’s more relevant cuz of the Pusha T co-sign.
