WXPN Stream of the Main Stage at the Roots Picnic

WXPN is streaming the main stage performances starting at 1 p.m.  You already know, performers include The Roots, Wiz Khalifa, Nas (backed by The Roots), Esperanza Spalding (backed by The Roots), Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, The Dismemberment Plan, and Little Dragon. The broadcast will be hosted by WXPN’s Bruce Warren and Mike Vasilikos, and will feature live performances from the main stage (as well as interviews with some of the bands who are performing on the second stage). Philly’s own DJ Afrodjiak will join Mike and Bruce during the webcast to cover all of the festivities and chat with artists throughout the day.

I have go to get this off my chest I don’t wanna do it on a ticketmaster feedback or someplace that might hurt the crew So…As a Die hard The Roots Fan since 94′, A past Picnic participant and an okayplayer I was sorely disappointed w’ this picnic.
Some of the opening acts I was interested in checking out on the main stage had sound issues (no big deal its a picnic…), then the general lack of seating if you were there from the earlier afternoon ( its a picnic w’out grass or seats… once again no big deal), the overall lack of flow and disorganization in the early sets seemed tacky for an 80$ ticket and a drive from NYC (To her credit Amanda Diva put forth a great effort to keep it moving), Putting Yelawolf and Blackthought w’ J.Period in the smaller tent when most of us wanted to see the Roots perform seemed poor planning especially when you had J. Period do a solo set for an hour on the mainstage. I had invited friends from all over who love the roots to come check this out and with the exception of Esperanza, & Little Dragon were extremely disappointed. I have seen the Roots perform in europe, in dives, Radio City, Carnegie Hall and on block parties… And by far this is the worst Roots affiliated show I have ever experienced… I was embarrased!
