Coachella 2013 gives us a musical highlight reel from this past weekend of packed shows at the Cali festival including performances from Major Lazer, the entire Wu Tang Clan, a crazy cover of Aaliyah‘s “Hot Like Fire” – check around the 19-minute mark for the heat – from Solange x The XX, John Legend x Benny Benassi, Flying Lotus, Danny Brown, Janelle Monae and Earl Sweatshirt. The crown jewel of the weekend’s ridiculously dope lineup was the extra special appearance of R. Kelly. Leading in with a bit of the title cut from his 1993 debut LP 12 Play, R. Kelly joined Phoenix – the pop-heavy alt-rock band from Versailles, France – on stage in front of the massive crowd. The talents from opposite sides of the spectrum met in the middle to perform the “Ignition” (1901 Remix) – a mash of the band’s 2009 track “1901″ and the R. Kelly party anthem from 2003. From there they jumped into a bit of “I’m A Flirt” – another track from the r&b titan’s laundry list of hits. As if the Pied Piper of R&B weren’t enough, Jurassic 5 also stormed the stage for a reunion. Check the trailer load of footage below.
