Director Patty Jenkins may receive all the praise from keeping the DCU (DC Comics Universe) from falling the fuck off. Why, you ask? Well, her latest trailer for the Gal Godot-Starring Wonder Woman film has us all standing in awe with our mouths agape.
The Israeli actress already stole the thunder from Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) in the maligned super team-up, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. But thankfully, she doesn’t have to worry about sharing the marquee, as she’ll be the lone warrior holding up this summer superhero adventure.
The trailer, which you can see below, details Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) early days and how she got caught up with mankind in the first place. The footage also shows Diana’s mother Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) and introduces her to the Lasso of Truth, sword and shield that she’ll later wield in future film installments. Appearances from General Antiope (Robin Wright), Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), German General Erich Ludendorff (Danny Huston) and Etta Candy (Lucy Davis) takes fans of the film through the basic origin of the film.
Add to the mix plenty of scenes of Diana using her bracelets, sword, lasso and shield, and this trailer is supremely one to watch on repeat.
Wonder Woman is scheduled to hit theaters on June 2, 2017.
