The Weeknd Trilogy is happening! Looks like every day is about to be Thursday again, because following the announcement of his official signing to Universal Republic (see also: Drizzy) and the forthcoming release of the new R&B star’s LP The Weeknd Trilogy (essentially the songs from his 3-part mixtape series, but re-recorded and remastered, plus a few new tunes) Abel Tesfaye wasted no time before giving us a taste of helium. See below the remastered and refixed version of “Wicked Games” from his game-changing new R&B 2011 mixtape debut House Of Balloons. Tesfaye also clarified that the new material will be actually new, as in: “being made in the studio right now“–not as in older, unreleased songs. To which we say, Let the wickedness begin anew when The Weeknd Trilogy is released.
