Vince Staples
I hold the music of Vince Staples in very high regard, so it’s saying a lot that I’m just about equally impressed by Staples’ life commentary (probably one of the better twitter follows out there). Knowing that the Long Beach rapper is not known to hold his tongue and seems to have some witty feedback on just about everything, GQ wisely brought him on for this bit. In the clip, Vince Staples critiques past covers of GQ’s Men of the Year covers. Staples is complimentary of a few, but serves up some high grade ether for the likes of Michael Jordan (damn, Trump tho?), Pat Riley, Colin Farrell, Chris Paul (seriously though, what is he wearing?), and poses the question I wish more people were asking… why is Chris Rock on Empire?
