Watch The Trailer For "Iron Fist," Netflix And Marvel's Upcoming Kung Fu Series

Netflix is on a winning streak with their Marvel series, and fans are hoping that next spring's Iron Fist, a kung fu show, will result with another hit.

The trailer for the upcoming show, which is scheduled for a March 17, 2017 release on Netflix, premiered on Comic Con over the weekend. The trailer takes a minute to get into the action, but many opening trailers hold back to build anticipation over time. But the clip gives a taste of what are sure to be great martial arts scenes. We also have a look at Finn Jones' (Game of Thrones) portrayal of title character Danny Rand, a.k.a. Iron Fist, a kung fu master who is able to harness his chi to give his fists a glow with supernatural powers.

Netflix has been on a roll with their interwoven Marvel series so far. First, Daredevil impressed critics with its murky portrayal of Hell's Kitchen, its fantastic fighting scenes, and its willingness to integrate gore in its scenes, making it arguably the darkest superhero series yet. Jessica Jones followed, a psychological thriller that showed one of the most complex superhero heroines ever seen on screen, facing a sociopath rapist of a villain. And just weeks ago, Luke Cage injected a shot of blackness into the Marvel universe as a hoodie-wearing, bulletproof superhero fighting organized crime in Harlem.

So far, Iron Fist looks like it'll be another distinct addition to Netflix's Marvel universe, and hopefully it will follow Luke Cage's lead in weaving in storylines from the other series to further add continuity.
