Brandy is arguably one of the more underappreciatedR&B icons from the 90s and 2000s, but she got her just due at the 2016 Soul Train Awards on Sunday night.

After accepting the show's second annual Lady of Soul Award from Jill Scott, Brandy performed a medley of her hits from over the years: Almost Doesnt Count, What About Us, Full Moon, I Wanna Be Down, The Boy Is Mine, Talk About Our Love, Have You Ever, and Sitting On Top Of The World, with Ma$e joining her for the latter.

In recent interviews leading up to Sunday's show, Soul Train Awards Host and Executive Producer Erykah Badu cited Brandy as a major influence for her 1997 debutBaduizm.

She inspired a lot of things about Baduizm because her album had come out before I finished mine, Badu said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. Brandy's self-titled debut came out 1994, and featured hit songs like Baby, I Wanna Be Down, "Best Friend" and "Brokenhearted." Just musically, production-wise and the writing, it was really good. And I hadn't heard anything else like it.
