Vince Staples Counts It Up On New Single "Get Paid" ft. Desi Mo (Prod. No I.D.)

Vince Staples Brings "Fire" To The Church

You can't run or hide from Vince Staples--but then why would you ever want to? The young West Coast MC has been making huge waves in 2015, dropping hard-hitting sonic morsels in the lead-up to his debut LP Summertime ’06. First it was "Señorita," and now Staples has shared "Get Paid," a sparse (yet plenty aggressive) song of coming up out of nothing into at least a little more something. "Get Paid" features hook and bridge assistance from Desi Mo and a beat so moody and infectious it could only have come from producer legend No I.D.. Still, it's all about Staples on this one--the 21 year-old goes in with a gnarled, sneering flow that sounds as if its about to mess you up, and then mock you behind your back.

Staples's ascension has been one of our favorite rap come-ups this year; the XXL 2015 Freshman Class member has amazed in a multitude of live performances, including SXSW, Soundset festival and most recently the closing night of Northside fest in Brooklyn, NYC. If you perhaps need a refresher course in Staples 101, re-visit his Hell Can Wait EP and take some solid notes. All signs point to greatness for Summertime '06, which drops June 30th. Listen to Vince Staples, Desi Mo and No I.D. all working in tandem below.
