Video: Wale x Miguel x The Roots Live on Jimmy Fallon

The new guard represented lovely on Jimmy Fallon last night, in the form of Wale and Miguel skipping through the musical poppy-fields of “Lotus Flower Bomb.” We’ve seen this team bring this same song to the other late night Jimmy, of course, but they weren’t backed by the baddest band in any time zone before. It’s cool to see Miguel constantly raising his live game notch by notch but I wish the camera-man had stayed on ?uestlove for more of the performance so I could see how he mimics the stuttery feel of programmed drums so damn well.

F*cking dreadful….Like the most hood ass karaoke nonsense I ever heard…Worst chorus of the year….Dude, you have some really cool reviews of other music, but this was awful. In fact, my girlfriend got up out of bed to ask me what the hell I was listening too…I had to tell her it was on Fallon and that there was no other way it would be playing in my house…She asked if it was a skit or sketch and I had to break the news that it was serious…Wale f/ both Crockett and Tubbs in one on douchey strained vocals. No disrespect to the writer- like I said, he does review some really good stuff, but this…SMH, B
