For the latest from OKPTV, we get an intimate mini-doc on the hardest working band in the biz, and now 4 time Grammy award winners, The Roots. Cam Be (director/editor) and Jeff Baraka (Interviewer/co-producer) tagged along with The Roots for a few stops on last year’s Hennessey Artistry tour, and got some great footage. Says Cam of the vid: “In this film I wanted to not only highlight the versatility of a group that has played with most everyone in the industry. But also capture candid moments of real human beings just trying to share the gifts they have been given to the best of their abilities.” Props to Cam, Jeff, and Bradley Murray for this.

To say these guys are the best is an understatement in itself!!! I am glad these brothers took time out to create this short film. I wonder if there is a longer version of the film. It sure seems like there is. This should’ve been done a longtime ago and that goes to show how much thye have accomplished just from a few years back. Now to date they have almost done the impossible. One should hope as an artist they can be like this…

What can I say? I mean they are unarguably one of the most influential, super talented group of individuals to ever step foot in the world of not just hip-hop but entertainment. They continue to make great music year after year despite the turmoil the music scene has been facing with all the fly by night so called musicians to the annoying and hypocritical individuals who are plaguing the music industry and to all the fads and fake trends. The Roots stay out deah, proceeding to continue to rock the mic, never doing what these other lames are doing, heading to the next movement making classical hip-hop tracks. Long as The Roots are still in the business, hip-hop will thrive. Thanks a lot Roots for keeping good music alive. You all do deserve the title “LEGENDARY”!
