Selected music from the soundtrack for Soundtrack For A Revolution, a documentary on the music of the  the civil rights movement which we told you about when it screened at BAM last year, will be released as a stand-alone music disc on January 31st, 2012. As noted in the headline, The Roots, John Legend and other OKP stalwarts take center stage–and by ‘others’ I mean Anthony Hamilton, Angie Stone, TV on the Radio, Wyclef, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Joss Stone and Richie Havens. For those who were shocked at Black Thought‘s doing his Hendrix thing on recent Roots compositions, have your mind blown when he gets his Fisk Jubilee on in this rendition of “Turn Me Around” (watch above). Find the tentative tracklist after the jump and pre-order on Amazon.

1. Wade In The Water – Angie Stone
2. Eyes On The Prize – Joss Stone
3. This Maybe The Last Time – Anthony Hamilton & The Blind Boys Of Alabama
4. We Shall Not Be Moved – Mary Mary
