A next video from Pete Rock + Smif N Wessun featuring Buckshot, no less. With time to reflect, this might be my favorite track from Monumental. With it’s hushed feel and eerie vocal loop, “Night Time” is definitely the beat that sounds least like what I expected (and got) from a lot of the LP, beatwise; super-tight renditions of classic drums, updated for the modern underground. And thus, ironically, it is closest to the spooky urban wonderland Boot Camp conjured up when they first stepped on the set. Monumental is out now.

They cut out Buckshot’s verse. This was one of my least favorite songs from the album, but the video is pretty good. Is it me, or has Pete Rock really improved on the mic since he first started?

what i want to know is how they come out with a song and video called “Night time” after, Shabaam Sahdeeq did a song called “night time” with Steele of Smif n wessun in it. its a total rip of the concept, even the hook is similar.

This video is not better than Shabaam’s, nor is the beat. its a cool song but why would they re-do the concept……thats wack.

i had to go back an watch to remember what yall were talking about but now i can say I DEF find the new joint superior–there may be a backstory on recycling the title/concept but just on the beat alone, has a totally different, more original feel than Sbam collabo IMO
