Good-ass writer Nelson George just sent us this trailer for his forthcoming novel The Plot Against Hip Hop. To give us a taste of the world it lives in, George walks us through a sea of gyrating bodies wilding out under the Brooklyn Bridge and down a grimy soho block to the site of a fictional murder scene that sets the action of the book in motion. And by action I mean a murder investigation that reveals a secret history of rap music involving shady government agents and the illuminati, not to mention Kanye West and Jay-Z. Tears on the mausoleum floor and blood stains on the mixtape (!)–this sounds like my kind of book. TPAHH will be published in November, but you can order it here now.

This book sucks. Reading it is like treading though molasses with timberlands on. Don’t bother.
