Another clip from Nas and Q-Tip‘s legendary surprise-a-show with Green Lantern at the Ace Hotel last year–this one features the full ATCQ line-up of Tip, Jarobi and Phife Dawg onstage together with Nas–doubly legendary considering all the beats, rhymes & fights that surrounded the recent Tribe doc. A few moments that are worth price of admission: 1) Nas’ face when Jarobi and Phife take the stage to do “Check The Rhyme”, 2) Nas generally forcing forwards and strong-arming Tip into doing one more song, which just happens to be “Scenario”, 3) Tip holding onto his hat to pogo through the first chorus 4) everybody apparently unsuccessfully hollering at Maxwell (??) to come up and “sing something” 5) Maxwell declining with “I’m incog-negro.” Which is probably just as well, cause at that point the 90s hot-tub time machine would have exploded and we wouldn’a been able to get back to the future.
