Though (as we reported) advertised headliners Busta Rhymes and Jay Electronica were not able to perform for reasons that are still unclear, Friday’s tribute to J Dilla at Dilla Day Detroit went off in a big way in spite of no-shows and 3 inches of snow. T3, Phat Kat, Guilty Simpson and of course Dilla’s little brother Illa J all carried the torch high with live performances and as OKP contributer Fredara Mareva reported via the twitters: “It was a beautiful hometown vibe.
