Debuting their first joint recording in eleven years on The Voice earlier this year, here’s Goodie Mob taking “Fight to Win” to Jimmy Kimmel. The reincarnated Mob, who have strayed considerably from the more nappy side of their roots, sparked some controversy in our comment section on that last post. Y’all feel any different about this now? I mean didn’t we all know, deep down, that the day would eventually come when Goodie Mob would be announced as “Goodie Mob featuring Cee-Lo Green?”

Okay, anyone who does not see this does not understand business.
Cee-Lo Green has transcended the underground, on-again, off-again assembly of the “GoodieM.O.B.”. You’re lying if you say otherwise. Not using his BRAND RECOGNITION with the group name (in this instance, at least) would just be mediocre, half-hearted marketing. I LOVED Goodie just as much as anyone, but if they want to expand their fan base they should ride Carlos’ fame as far as they can with it. Music Business 101.

How can it be Goodie Mob featuring Cee-Lo when he’s in Goodie Mob???

More like Cee- Lo feat. Goodie Mob. I don’t care how they want to market it, just make good music. This isn’t the real Goodie Mob sound. If the album is going to sound like this song, I’ll be disappointed. Sure, they will expand their fanbase, but be prepared to lose your original fans. I don’t listen to pop music… sorry.

It would make a good Intro I suppose. I kept waiting for them to rock the mic though. Maybe it’s the Outro? Interlude perhaps?
