We may have mentioned before that Denitia Odigie is the sh*t. This live clip of “Sleep” however, takes all the previous superlatives used about her and laughs at their smallness. This sh*t is pure magic, Denitia seducing the microphone like she was singing for the judge of History, even though she is clearly singing for a small but lucky contingent of hardcore fans at Arlene’s Grocery in the LES. If a note-perfect performance like this makes you want to get up and punch something, don’t. Kickstart something instead–like Denitia’s next album which she is currently raising the funds to record at The Bunker Studios here in Brooklyn (see details in the clip after the jump).
