I never listen to rock music– but The Black Keys is one of my favorite groups. I can’t explain this anomaly, but these two videos demonstrate The Key’s seductive power to momentarily convert a loyal hip-hop head. Promoting their imminent album El Camino, the Ohio-native duo appeared on Saturday Night Live this past weekend, performing “Lonely Boy” and “Gold on the Ceiling” while they were in town for a tour stop at Webster Hall (full tour dates after the jump). El Camino will be available December 6– that’s tomorrow y’all. To get a taste, listen to the single “Run Right Back” and watch the hilarious ‘officially unofficial’ viral video for “Lonely Boy.” Pre-order the album on iTunes.

I think you need to continue expanding your horizons then. a lot of great rock, hip-hop, americana and funk/ brass out there. i’ve been trying to expand my “neo-soul” repetoire, but until they bring the horns back in, I’m not that interested.

Ok you caught me, I was exaggerating to make a point. I just mean that as a hip-hop and Latin music DJ, I am very picky about rock music. It’s gotta be real soulful. So I fucks with the likes of The Keys, The Stripes, Oleander, etc. Any suggestions for me?
