Video: Beyoncé “Countdown” Live on Jimmy Fallon

The late-night homies at Jimmy Fallon just posted (and aired) this live clip of Beyoncé Knowles ripping up her song “Countdown” backed by the legendary Roots crew. He’s been getting some static for the way it was presented–presumably taped in the summer back when a pre-natal Beyoncé ripped up “Best Thing I Never Had,” but thrown to as if she was live onstage while Jimmy looks on, holding up guest Chris Martin from Coldplay like he was a newspaper stamped 11/11/11. If you ask me, Fallon and crew are probably just playing along with the J&B-machine’s master-plan–and I bet they did this the same reason they do everything. SO Y’ALL WILL TALK ABOUT IT ALL WEEK.

Plus, who cares? Pregnant or not, Beyoncé shows why she is the queen on this clip; an icon at the height of her powers. She is the new Diana Ross AND the black Marilyn Monroe–if this was 1961 she would be serenading Obama on his birthday and causing a national scandal. But, in case you can’t tell from everything else going on in the world, dude is clearly just not that lucky.
