Trump Ohio Campaign Chair Really Believes Racism Didn't Exist Before Obama Presidency

Trump Ohio Campaign Chair Really Believes Racism Didn't Exist Before Obama Presidency

Wow. Honestly, where to even begin with this one? Well, Kathy Miller, who is the chair of Donald Trump's campaign in Mahoning County, made some really, really offensive and absolutely stupid remarks that are emblematic of Trump's ongoing dilemma of gaining black voter support.

In a video segment done by The Guardian, Miller claims there was "no racism" during the 1960s, and said black people who have not succeeded over the past half century only have themselves to blame.

Let's see how these two statements actually, you know, pair with the facts.

To blatantly say that "no racism" existed during the 1960s, at the height of the Civil Rights Movement, where one of the nation's most revered and iconic civil rights activist was assassinated, is just irresponsible. But then again when you're white and you're unaware of the privilege you possess, it's probably easy to think that racism has never existed.

Next, we only have ourselves to blame? Did you forget about slavery? Jim Crow laws? Just because these things no longer exist doesn't mean that the trail of other problems they created have disappeared, too.

However, Miller doesn't stop there: she continues to put her foot in her mouth by saying that the the Black Lives Matter movement is "a stupid waste of time," and said lower voter turnout among African Americans could be related to "the way they're raised."

"I don't think that's part of the way they're raised," she added. "For us, I mean, that was something we all did in our families, we all voted."

Well Miller, maybe you've been in such a perpetual state of white privilege that you forgot that at one black people couldn't vote in America, and even when an amendment was made to allow us to, white people still restricted us through state laws such as the "Black Codes" or through violence.

I know what you're thinking: "That's it right? Miller can't be this much of a head ass, right?"

Wrong.

She then proceeds to say that racism didn't exist until Obama got elected. Yes, she actually said that.

But it's all good: according to The Columbus Dispatch, Miller just resigned.

Life comes at you fast, beloved. If you want to watch Miller make a fool of herself, the video is below.
