DJ Jab, owner and founder of Fat Beats Records, has a major new project in the pipeline. Going by the name of The Trinity Project, Jab has assembled a heavy artillery of wordsmiths —Roxanne Shante, Grand Puba, Slug, Immortal Technique, Roc Marciano and Ill Bill, just to name a few –to record an album. “Sunshine” is the first beam of light we get to witness from the project, and it features Sadat X, A.G., and the vocalist Janelle Collins. As if that wasn’t enough to spark a true head’s interest, the instrumental is an unreleased Jay Dee gem purchased exclusively from the J Dilla Foundation. Peep the uplifting tune below, grab the download in exchange for an email-address here, and pre-order the 7” starting tomorrow.

Hmmm…is it okay to say that I don’t like this? I think the lead in scratching and off key Roy Ayers sample fuck this up before you even get started on the old school ass bars being dropped…oops! I love the OG instrumental from the beat tape tho!

No like. One of faves from the beat vaults, this just sounds corny. This is a powerful track, maybe new blood needs to bleed on it. Tito Lopez, Blu, or even an OG like Mr. Trotter..
