TOKiMONSTA Announces New Mini-Album, Shares "Put It Down" ft. Anderson .Paak & KRNE with Anderson .Paak & KRNE

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Los Angeles producer TOKiMONSTA has announced a new mini-album project, and is already sharing new sonic treats with the world in the form of new single "Put it Down." The track features quick-bouncing pizzicato strings, shuffling soft snares and the lush vocals of Anderson .Paak and additional assistance from KRNE. It's a surprisingly light and breezy affair--that is, until the megaton horns hit. Yes, this is TOKi after all.

TOKiMONSTA's new mini-album will be entitled Fovere released on January 29, and in conversation with FADER, the beatmaker referred to it as her "most complete work to date."

"[I]t's a body of work that is whole and that I'm proud of," she told the magazine. "It represents my life at the time it was being made--a point where a lot of transitions were being made and I had the biggest personal growth spurt. Fovere essentially means, ‘to cherish’ in Latin. To cherish everything--good, bad, light and dark.” Read the full interview over at the FADER.

Listen to "Put it Down" below and scope TOKiMONSTA's current tour itinerary (some of which will feature appearances from Paak himself) after the jump.
