If you would have told me that the illusive Todd Rundgren would have been backed by Dam-Funk 10 years ago, I would have told you that that's a damn good name for a band that's going to back up Todd Rundgren. Well, funkettes and funkateers, knowing what we now know about these two, (Rundgren as a pioneer of prog rock, yacht rock, blue-eyed soul and the like, and Dam-Funk as the captain of the modern boogie brigade) I think we can all confidently proclaim that this linkage will be legendary. The tour commences on April 10th in Park City and runs straight through the end of May, stopping for two night at NYC's Highline Ballroom on May 5th and 6th. With Dam on the keys (or even the ones and twos) and Rundgren handling axe duties, this joint venture should be formidable, providing a cross-generational display of interplanetary funksmanship for your earholes.
