Thundercat Chimes In On WOKE Supergroup, Itching To Work w/ Kenny Loggins + More

Not too long ago, Thundercat, Flying Lotus and Shabazz Palaces introduced the terrestrial world to WOKE. It was a dream-come-true side-project turned main steez that featured George Clinton and debuted as part of Adult Swim's summer singles series with the otherworldly offering "The Lavishments Of Light Looking." And while FlyLo has already revealed just how that all-too-perfect alignment of the stars came to be, a new interview with the madcap bass man takes us a little further into the studio magic that birthed the collaboration.

Speaking with The FADER, 'Cat explained how he missed his close-up with Starchild during the To Pimp A Butterfly session, but was in awe of Clinton's ability to conjure up such witty one-liners so effortlessly while working with him on the WOKE project. He goes on to discuss some of his other most coveted collaborations, pledging allegiance to yacht rock pioneers like Hall & Oates, Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins (yes, that Kenny Loggins) and how when FlyLo starts a musical thought, he tends to complete it, no matter how long it takes.
