Thundercat Unveils New Music Live In New Orleans At Pitchfork's Nightcap

Thundercat took to the trip down to N'awlins to for some musical merriments at Pitchfork's newly launched Nightcap series, performing tracks both new and old, even sitting down for a quick one-on-one to cap off the nightcap. The brainfeeding bass-sage hit the stage with the usual suspects in tow, pulling out all the virtuoso licks in a new, unheard and unreleased treatment entitled "Them Changes," not be confused with Ziggy Stardust or Buddy Miles' iconic numbers of the same name. If you've caught one of Cat's sets before, than "Them Changes" should come off as pretty straightforward, given his live show tends to be a marathon of musical madness and jazzy, non-syncopated breaks.

He also performed his kinetic Apocalypse cut "Tron Song" before sitting with P4K crew to discuss his off-the-wall stage show and how he's been pushing sonic barriers over each and every night, adding a new quirk to the set or removing, simply for the sake of pushing it. And as someone who's had the opportunity to see his show twice in the past year, I can comfortably say it's working. You can watch Thundercat & Co get loose in New Orleans down below. If you need more from the man, look no further than his creative kin Flying Lotus' last album You're Dead!, which is available on iTunes today and prominently features your boy.
