Johnny Osbourne The Roots

At Okayplayer’s 2012 Holiday Jam last month, those lucky enough to be in the audience witnessed many special collaborations between The Roots and a variety of artists such as Q-Tip, Bilal, Rahzel, and A$ap Rocky. They maintained their spot as the world’s best backing band and repped LargeUp by bringing out dancehall originator, Mr. Buddy Bye himself, Johnny Osbourne. Together they performed his 1985 hit, “Buddy Bye.” This was followed with appearances by Red Fox and Screechy Dan.Together, they performed Red Fox’s “Bashment Party.” Check out the footage below and head over to LargeUp for photos from the once-in-a-lifetime collaboration.
