Anticipation has been building ahead of the release date for Baz Luhrmann‘s forthcoming film, The Great Gatsby. The film, slated to drop on May 10th, will be preceded by its adventurous soundtrack – a project built to explore the possibilities of artistic collaboration. That spirit lead the soundtrack to be populated by a great variety of artists who, in some cases, step far afield of their genre-specific lanes to contribute to a body of work that embodies the spirit of the Jazz Age without necessarily relying on the most literal translation of the popular culture of that time period. The full soundtrack – executive-produced by Jay-Z – is available for streaming via NPR‘s First Listen. Check the link below to listen to The Great Gatsby soundtrack.
