Gaslamp Killer Live In Amsterdam
If you've been fortunate enough to catch The Gaslamp Killer do his thing atop the decks in a live setting, than you should count yourself amongst the fortunate in this waking world. For the rest of us...at least there's YouTube. FactMag has just uploaded a new brief video of the GLK doing what he does best above the decks during a recent live show in Amsterdam, and it's a thing of brief, blistering beauty. We hear fearsome horns, some maniacal laughter, thunderous bass drops and a little synth playfulness.
And it all elevates in its final minute. We're treated to some of the brilliant, almost virtuosic scratching technique that we've come to expect from Gaslamp Killer, and her certainly doesn't disappoint in offering up the polyrhythmic goods. Watch the full video from Amsterdam's Dance Event night (which went down at the legendary Melkweg club). GLK has a few tour dates left for the month of October, and if you happen to be in Europe, Denver or Detroit, go get yourself some, for all our sakes.
