TDE Founder Anthony Tiffith Says Ab-Soul, SZA Albums Are Still Incomplete

Even though new TDE signee Lance Skiiiwalker has a new album on the way this month, fans of Ab-Soul and SZA are impatiently waiting for their long-awaited follow-up LPs. But TDE's head honcho says both of them are still in the lab.

"Kan [sic] we finish soul & sza projects b4 [sic] we release them? I want em out just like u do," Tiffith tweeted, responding to fan complaints. "...kan we shoot a few videos and get his artwork done? I'm just asking."

When a fan commented saying that they thought Ab-Soul's album was already done, Tiffith implied that Soulo was still adding finishing touches.

"Maybe soul didn't like all his mixes. Maybe he went back and made some changes," he tweeted.

In February, Tiffith said that he wants to release six albums under TDE in 2016. So far, the squad has already dropped three: Kendrick Lamar'suntitled. unmastered., ScHoolboy Q'sBlank Face LP, and Isaiah Rashad'sThe Sun's Tirade. Lance Skiiiwalker's introduction, Introverted Intuition is scheduled to drop on October 18, making that four albums this year from the California-based label.

But Ab-Soul is a fan favorite, with supporters expecting him to bounce back from his critically-panned 2014 album These Days. SZA has also been killing live performance over the last couple years, building anticipation for the follow-up for her 2014 debut Z. A seemingly frustrated SZA also said, in since-deleted tweets,  "I actually quit. @iampunch can still release my album if he ever feels like it." Either SZA and the TDE brass have different perspectives, or she has since gone back to the studio as well.

There's no telling if TDE will have time to release the final two albums in its lineup this year, but everyone is hoping for the best - Tiffith included.

"I don't make money holding albums in my safe," he tweeted. "...I'm trying 2 get off 6 albums this year."
