Consistent Brooklyn (and Okayplayer!) representer Talib Kweli has been selected by New Era for their Flagbearer series, joining the likes of NY graf legend Haze and track-star Emmanuel Callender in the ongoing campaign for the makers of fine fitted baseball caps. Watch the profile below to see Kweli talk about being raised by the city, reminisce about when fitteds were actually baseball-related and share some insights on the evolution of NY hip-hop culture and it's embrace of artists like Run DMC and The Beastie Boys. For my money, the best thing about this viral is that either this was produced in the bowels of New York's Transit Museum in downtown BK or New Era shut down an actual working subway line to shoot this thing with the proper Taking of Pelham 1,2,3 feel to it. Either way, kinda dope.
