Lets start the week off with some new (very old) Jay Electronica. This past weekend a few unreleased joints from Jay Elec hit the net. This one is called "Suckas" and has Jay gettin' busy over a Dilla beat you've probably heard before. It hasn't been confirmed, but it's believed this was recorded in the early 2000's and meant for the LP, War With The Dragon. The homie Sweeney dug up this interview clip that may shed more light, in regards to recording over Dilla's beats: "well they were songs that I recorded before he passed, but we didn’t work on them together. The songs of mine over Dilla beats are from an album I did back then called war with the dragon and we hadn’t had the opportunity to work then."

I know y'all didn't forget about that J DillaJay $tay Paid album already, right? To keep Jay Dee's name shinning we've got the OKP premiere of "24k Rap" feat. Havoc and Raekwon. Hav and Rae keep it straight gutter, grimey, and NY over production from Detroit's finest. Dilla was a huge fan of Mobb Deep and Wu, so this collabo only made sense. This is actually the first time Havoc and Rae have been in the same video together (I don't know how that's possible, but it's true). Video shot and directed by Derek Pike in the Alife Rivington Club, NYC. J$P is in stores now via Nature Sounds.
I was tempted to post the radio rip but we knew the internets would put out that CDQ shortly. Splash released this much talked about Raekwon track, "House Of Flying Daggers," featuring Inspectah Deck, Ghostface, and Method Man and produced by J Dilla... do I really have to say anything else? Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II will be out September 8th... seriously this time.

We received good word in an email from the homey Jeff at Stones Throw last night that Ma Dukes and J Dilla's other heirs have recently succeeded in their legal battle against the executors of J Dilla's estate. The previous executors have resigned and a new administrator has been appointed who is looking forward to working closely with the family throughout the process. We've been following these matters which were discussed heavily in this interview with Ma Dukes, as well as written about in this Vibe Magazine article from early this year. Be on the lookout for an official statement from the new executors of the J Dilla estate, coming soon.
In case you've been living under a rock and don't know about J Dilla's latest album, Jay $tay Paid, Maureen 'Ma Dukes' Yancey sheds some more light on the project and what it means to her, in this clip. J$P is in stores now.
I see some tributes floating around, but we're going to let MJ handle the vocals today. With that being said, from one passed legend to another here's J Dilla's remix of the MJ track "HIStory." The original track was from MJ's '95 double disc album, HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I. This is the same album that brought us mega hits "Scream,""They Don't Really Care About Us,""Stranger In Moscow," "You Are Not Alone," and more.

At this years' One Stop Shop Conference in Arizona (a producers conference presented by Sha Money XL), Q-Tip was given a well deserved award. The Abstract pays homage to his peers who inspire him and dedicates his award to J Dilla. Watch his acceptance speech above.
Looks like Mos Def's new album, The Ecstatic, caught that drip drop. I guess that's not too bad considering it drops in 6 days (June 9th!!). No more delays, this album is really almost here. Here is the latest track the internets have chosen to leak, "History," produced by J Dilla and featuring Talib Kweli. Yes, we've heard this Jay Dee beat before, but are you really going to complain about a new Black Star track over some Dilla production? Didn't think so. The Ecstatic will be in stores next Tuesday via Downtown Records. Check after the jump for Terrence Jennings' photos from the Black Star show last weekend.

J$P is Here! F all them download links, take ya a$$ to iTunes or your nearest record store and go support the late great J Dilla's new album. I can promise you this album is worth every penny and then some. Rolling Stone was quoted as saying the project is "possibly the best posthumous rap record since the final releases of 2Pac and Biggie." Here is one last Jay $tay Paid bonus, "Make It Fast," featuring Bun B and Termanology. This track appears as a bonus with the purchase of the Vinyl copy of the album.

It looks like June 2nd's gonna be a real big day for good music - we all should be making a few purchases at iTunes/the record store. My first dollar will be going to J Dilla's album, Jay $tay Paid, executive produced by Ma Dukes and mixed by Pete Rock. Recently, Breaking Atoms presented a release party for the album at Broccoli Kung Pao in L.A. Courtesy of Broccoli City, here is a recap vid from the night. After the jump check BCTV's interview with Diz Gibran from the event.
