After listening to Common's title track off of Universal Mind Control it was more than obvious the song was influenced by Afrika Bambaataa's "Planet Rock." In this Zune commercial that premiered the other night Common and Bambaataa joke about who's song it really is (with some real dope album covers circlin' in the background).
DJ Eves' latest mixtape, Laced with Gems, is clearly just that. I don't know how he dug this one up but here is the original J Dilla produced version of Common's song "Be" off Com's album of the same name. Which version do you prefer?
UPDATE: We now have the DJ-less version.

Nardwuar is up to his usual antics in his latest faceoff, this time with Common. As expected from Nardwar, the interview is unconventional to say the least. Check it as they chop it up about the history of Hip-Hop in the Chi, Com's former "Pimpin'" days, and Cornbread even does the cha cha slide....seriously.
The two 4th quarter heavyweight OkayArtists, Common & Q-Tip, both recently sat down with Hot 97's Angie Martinez to discuss their new albums and more. Watch Q-Tip up top and Common after the jump.

It's looking like Common's latest release date (12/9) for Universal Mind Control is going to be the final one (hopefully). Today, courtesy of OnSmash, we have the album art and tracklisting. Yeezy stans will be happy to see he is in fact on the album, and I'm real curious to hear the Cee-Lo featured "Make My Day." Follow me after the jump for the tracklisting.
