It would be much easier for me to name the underground NY rappers that aren't in this video, than to name the ones who are. Watch the video for Termanology's "How We Rock" featuring Bun B and produced by DJ Premier (as if you couldn't tell). Feelin' the song, and dude definitely did his thing at The Knitting Factory the other night. Termanology's album Politics as Usual is in stores September 30th.
"How We Rock" featuring Bun B and produced by DJ Premier is the lead single off Termanology's upcoming debut album Politics As Usual. The Premo beat is laced with his signature style and hearing Bun B rock over it is a rare treat. Politics As Usual drops September 30th on ST. Records/Nature Sounds. In addition to DJ Premier, the album will feature production from: Pete Rock, Alchemist, Hi-Tek, Havoc, Nottz, Buckwild, Large Professor + Easy Mo Bee. Termanology"How We Rock (Prod. DJ Premier)" feat. Bun B
A few days ago, when my phone rang at some late-late hour of the night with an unidentified number, I almost didn't pick up. I was all "who the eff is this??" When I answered a strangely familiar voice said "What's up Ginny, this is Bun B." Good thing I picked up. Turns out Bun B was in need of Roots crew contact info as he was fixing to come through to their performance in Houston. Looks like he not only made an appearance, but hopped on stage for a live rendition of "International Players Anthem." Of course we've got to say RIP to Pimp C who we all wish could've been right there with them.
*Editor's note: I'm not a name-dropper, I swear! Really, I'm not. Did I mention my total new BFF is Estelle? Well, we did talk one time. Wait- Erykah Badu and I email each other! Okay, it was only once, and it was a press release from her label- but the email address SAID "Erykah Badu." I saved it. One day I'll show you.
Bonus: INSANE ?uestlove drum solo from the same show after the jump:
Itsthereal always manages to tickle our funny bone. Peep this skit "Liscense II Trill" featuring Bun B, who's album II Trill is in stores tomorrow. And damn, who remembers Opposite Day (one huge reason not to have any kids...)?!?
