As you can see from this PSA done in Norfolk, Virginia, both ?uesto and
Black Thought get it. They get that this election is a critical moment
in our Nation's history, and they get that the outcome will determine
OUR futures. They are even taking time out of their North American
tour with Gym Class Heroes to do video drops, radio interviews, to register voters, and to continue campaigning
while on the road. So listen up, and GO REGISTER TO VOTE today. Check the Declare Yourself site for State-by-State voter registration deadlines to find out when you can register until. You
can do it right now, just click VoteForChange.com. Your voice counts, your vote
counts.
The Roots just recently finished the European leg of their tour. Now back in the states, Black Thought stopped by the booth at Rap City and of course ripped it as expected over that "Warm It Up Kane" beat.
It's a bit of a slow Friday today. You might not even be able to imagine how much isht we are just sitting on over here that never saw the light of day or simply was never finished. Here is a montage of some clips shot in the Boom Room in Philadelphia (The Roots' recording space) circa early 2004. Shot by SupaStar for Dreality.tv (where there's more). It features (in this order): F. Knuckles, Killer Kas, Mack Dubb, Dice Raw, Truck North, and Black Thought. Alternate version after the jump.
Many of you may have forgotten (myself included) about a NY emcee by the name of Jane Doe. She definitely could spit, but kind of vanished into obscurity after awhile. Anyway, our boy 88-Keys was telling us he produced an album for her back in 2000 slated to be called The Introduction. Since it never came out (and never will), 88 said he would hit us with some tracks, starting with this one song called "Bullshit" feat. Talib Kweli and Black Thought.

Skillz' latest LP, The Million Dollar Backpack is in stores tomorrow. To help motivate you OKPers to the record store here's the last heat rock we're leaking from the album. The song is called "Hold Tight" featuring Black Thought, with ?uestlove and James Poyser on the production. The song is just as hot as you would think it should be with that lineup. Follow me after the jump for a bonus freestyle and interview with Skillz.
