With Beastie Boys member MCA revealing his recent health issues (Get Well Soon!), they had to relinquish their headlining spot at this past weekend's All Points West concert. To fill the void, Jay-Z came to the rescue to take over the show's closing slot. Above, watch Jay perform a tribute to the Beastie Boys, with this "No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn/Brooklyn We Go Hard" mashup. After the jump Hova performs the "Can I Live," "BP3 Intro", "Diamonds From Sierra Leone," and "Roc Boys."
We first heard this Beastie Boys x Nas callabo at Bonnaroo, and now the final audio for "Too Many Rappers" has hit the net. The track is the first single from the Beastie Boys' upcoming album, Hot Sauce Committee Pt.1. The LP was originally scheduled to drop September 15th. Unfortunately, due to the news I just received as I was getting ready to post this, the album and the promo tour have been postponed indefinitely. Beastie Boys member MCA just announced he has been diagnosed with cancer. Luckily it is a very treatable form, as the tumor is in his left parotid (salivary) gland. Watch MCA break the news and give more details in the vid after the jump. Keep MCA in your prayers as he undergoes treatment and recovery.

Stop lying, you didn't see this collabo coming. At this years' Bonnaroo festival, which took place this past weekend, the Beastie Boys brought out Nasir Jones himself to get down during their set. They performed a new song they have together entitled "Let It Out" which may appear on the Beastie's upcoming album, Hot Sauce Committee (9/09). Check after the jump for footage of Erykah Badu, Raphael Saadiq, and Santigold, who each performed at Bonnaroo as well.
The other night, the Beastie Boys were guests on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. They announced that they are working on a new album titled Hot Sauce Committee that should be out in September. After their segment, they casually walk on stage and perform "So Watcha Want" with The Roots backing them up. I have to admit, as a kid this was one of the Beastie songs that converted me from a hater into a fan. If you're feeling all nostalgic on that Beastie ish, check out my man DJ Reason's, The Hand Me Down Puma Mix, a quality selection of Beastie Boys music.
