This past Spring, Toronto's own Ayah released her latest album, 4:15. Here is her latest video from the project, "In My Lifetime." The video serves two purposes, to get the song more shine, and also to raise funds and awareness for The Remix Project (the office she arrives in at the end of the vid). The Remix Project is a youth urban arts organization in the T-Dot for which Ayah use to work. Look for Ayah's new album with DJ Jazzy Jeff to drop in 2010. Props to E-Dub.
T-Dot talent connects with Tona's latest video, "Street of Dreams," featuring Ayah. Says Tona of the vid: “This is a portrayal of the every day lives and realities of many people. They have inspired this song and video.” The track was produced by Rich Kidd and vid directed by Unseen Movement. Tona's new EP, Direct Deposit, will be out June 2nd via Da District Ent/E1 Music Canada.
Next Tuesday will mark the release date for Ayah's new LP, 4:15. Make sure you go get Ayah's new project when it drops, it's definitely a breath of fresh air in these soul-music-deprived days we're in.
Songstress Ayah is back and ready to release her sophomore album, 4:15, appropriately on April 15th. Her '08 mixtape, The Problem Woman, definitely put her on my radar. Today, listen to her new song "Might Not Be." DJ Jazzy Jeff had very high praise for the LP stating: "In a day when a lot of people are looking for a light in the music tunnel...one shines really bright...Ayah has given me new found faith that soul music is very much alive...it's great to be working with her..." We're still over here bumpin' music from Elzhi's Euro Pass, and this weekend we get some new music from the man off his upcoming album. The song is called "The Leak," and it features the lovely Ayah and was produced by Black Milk. Elzhi's debut solo album, The Preface, drops August 12th. The above video is of Elzhi performing two joints off of Euro Pass live, "Motown 25" and "That's That One."
