I'll admit I've been jockin' Alicia Keys kinda heavily lately, but you can't deny how hot this is. Tuesday night, at PC Richard & Sons Theater in Tribeca New York for the iHeart Radio series, Ms. Keys performed her song "Empire State of Mind pt.II" (sans Jay-Z). This is the version that will appear on her album, The Element of Freedom (12/15). I know this is borderline blasphemy but part 2 > the original. All of that live instrumentation and the new verses really give this song a fresh new feeling, which is much needed with the incessant play of the original version on NY radio stations.
As I mentioned before, Alicia Keys' second single, "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart," smashes on her first one ("Doesn't Mean Anything"). To reinforce my point, here's the official video for her second single. Still feeling the song, but she lost me with this rogue-like vid. Courtesy of OnSmash we also have the B-Side (another banger), "Dreaming." The Element of Freedom will be out December 15th.
Jay-Z penned this year's NY anthem with "Empire State of Mind" featuring Alicia Keys. The video debuted today, and since it seems to be giving my Yanks good luck, I'll let this one bump 'til we get that ring (yeah, that'll make 27). The Blueprint 3 is in stores now. Video directed by Hype Williams.
So I may have to eat my words, after saying that Alicia Keys was sounding exactly the same on this new album (based on her first single). Alicia takes it to the left and kills it with her second single, a synth laden track entitled "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart." The song was produced by Jeff Bhasker, who it shouldn't surprise you to know also worked on Kanye's last album. The Element of Freedom will be out on December 1st.

Though it's not exactly showing growth from her last project, I'm still a fan of Alicia Keys' new song, "Doesn't Mean Anything." OnSmash just dropped the world premiere of the video, which will be the first single off her upcoming LP, The Element of Freedom (12/1). Video directed by P.R. Brown.
I love me some Alicia Keys, and with a new album set to drop in December that should provide for plenty of postable material in the coming weeks. Here's Alicia performing her new single, "Doesn't Mean Anything," Live on Regis & Kelly's show... no Lil Mama interruptions this time.
The lovely and talented Alicia Keys is back, and ready to put out her 4th studio album. We don't have a title for the album yet, but we do have the first official single "Doesn't Mean Anything." It's sounding like she's picking up right where she left off with As I Am... which is a very good thing.
You already know I take full advantage of any chance I get to post about Alicia Keys. So for the strong independent women out there, here's Ms. Keys performing "Superwoman" on Oprah.
