Video: Akon + Peter Buffet "Blood Into Gold" To End Modern Day Slavery

In the spirit of OKP's attempt to blog as much as we can about great humanitarians in hip-hop, check out this new song by Peter Buffet and Akon, "Blood Into Gold." The song highlights the tragic problem of human trafficking and slavery throughout the world. The video, produced by UNICEF, offers powerful visual images illuminating this horrific problem. All proceeds from the download of the single will go to an organization whose purpose is to educate and bring an end to human trafficking worldwide. Akon and Peter Buffet will be presenting this song at the United Nations this evening in an event alongside The Blind Boys of Alabama, The Marley Brothers, Danny Glover, Bill T. Jones, Toumani Diabate, and many more. Organized around the theme “Breaking the Silence, Beating the Drum”, the concert is part of a series of events celebrating the triumph of the spirit over slavery and human trafficking.
