We get to hear about his thoughts behind this concept album, a look at his family life and commentary on the album by some of his friends Just Blaze and John Legend. 88-Keys and Evidence team up in the latest OnDaSpot Freestyle from DJ Green Lantern's Invasion radio. To change things up, 88 puts a beat together on the spot while Ev kicks a rhyme over top. Both of these dudes got some bangers in store for November. 88-Keys' The Death of Adam drops 11/11 and Evidence's The Layover EP/DVD on 11/25, both via Decon (and both very dope).

We should have posted this earlier when 88-Keys hit the message boards with his "Stay Up! (VIAGRA) - Prescription Pack" over a week ago. You all were loving the original song with Kanye, now here is a remix featuring the latest hip-hop super-trio, Kids Incorporated. Kids Incorporated features the alter egos of 88-Keys, The Alchemist, and Evidence. Listen to the remix, then go to iTunes and cop the full pack which also includes clean, and a capella versions of the song along with a bonus track called "Bout to Bus." Video: Q-Tip Album Release Party

The other night, Target threw an album release party for Q-Tip at the Bowery Hotel in NYC. In this first video we get Ali Shaheed Muhammed, Talib Kweli, Mark Ronson, and RZA taking the mic to toast to the success of their friend, Q-Tip.  After the jump is a vid of Tip performing "Award Tour" alongside his cousin Consequence, as well as a vid from the red carpet featuring interviews with Q-Tip, Ali Shaeed, 88-Keys, and the RZA.  The Renaissance is out next Tuesday.

DECON CMJ Showcase Video and Photos

The annual CMJ Music Marathon and Film Festival has had NYC turned on its head all week.  The one event you could have found the Okayplayer logo on this year was Decon's "Never Not Fresh" label showcase and party to celebrate the relaunch of their creative department.  Check out the above video for performance clips from 88-Keys and Izza Kizza, then check below for a photo gallery featuring Evidence, Aceyalone, and the Decon dudes.  Make sure you visit the last image which depicts one of the severed thumb USB sticks Decon has been sending out to industry trade publications to announce the launch of their new creative agency and the unveiling of their website, deconmedia.com (the password is the name of their CMJ event, all one word).

NYC, tonight Okayplayer is helping to present Decon's "Never Not Fresh" party for CMJ at Sullivan Hall in Manhattan.  Not only is this a celebration of Decon's multi-media roots and their brand new creative agency, but there will also be performances from Evidence, Aceyalone, 88-Keys, Izza Kizza, DJ Babu + special guests.  Look for video installations, give-aways, and more.  It all goes down tonight, 9pm, at Sullivan Hall, 214 Sullivan Street btwn Bleeker and W. 3rd, doors at 8pm, tix $15.



The November/December issue of URB magazine that will be hitting news stands in a few weeks features our man 88-Keys on the cover. In the above video we get a behind-the-scenes look at the cover shoot. Check URB for a preview of the story. 88's The Death of Adam will be in stores November 11th via Decon Records .
