Acclaimed Amsterdam-Based Songstress Szjerdene Performs The BAILE Produced Single "Restart" Live At Red Bull Studios London.
Acclaimed Amsterdam-based songstress Szjerdene delivers a moving performance of the BAILE produced single "Restart" in a new video from Red Bull Studios London. The acoustic performance with pianist Johnny Tomlinson follows the 2015 release of her Paragon EP. The single recorded in London and billed as a "work in progress" is a nuanced ballad that offers a peek at what Szjerdene might be planning to release in the months ahead.
Recording Restart at Red Bull Studios was very special as it was the first time I had ever performed the song. I wrote it on a recent trip to New York with a producer named BAILE. We jumped into the studio and finished it within two hours and I instantly fell in love with its simplicity. The song is about owning up to the reality of a relationship that probably should have ended a long time ago. It focuses on the process of transforming denial into acceptance and acknowledging that it's time to let go and start again elsewhere. It was cool to be able to record this version with Johnny – he’s an absolute genius and added a new dimension to the track.
