It appears the jazz force is with us on this lovely Wednesday afternoon. Following a recent performance at a Brooklyn warehouse for RBMA NYC's installation, the internets are graced with an intimate and cosmic near-two-hour performance from The Sun Ra Arkestra captured in pristine clarity by the good folks at Boiler Room TV. Housed by the gorgeous Union Chapel in London, The Arkestra, under the command of longtime member and horn player, Marshall Allen, takes us on a wild trip through all of the jazz constellations in about as picturesque a venue as you can imagine.
