Solange's 'A Seat At The Table' Gets Vinyl Release Date

Solange Announces New Album ft. Q-Tip, Sampha, Dev Hynes + More, Out This Friday

After dropping two new music videos from her latest album A Seat At The Table, Solange is also prepping for the vinyl release of the project. That's right — those vinyl rumors are now confirmed.

The 21 track album will be shipping out on vinyl on December 9, with the tracks split on two records. There are not any additional details offered about the vinyl, but hopefully it'll also come with an actual physical copy of the digital 112 page book that has accompanied the digital release of A Seat At The Table.

Considering that a number of albums from this year (Beyonce's Lemonade; Frank Ocean's Blonde; Chance The Rapper's Coloring Book; Kanye West's The Life of Pablo; and many more) have yet to get official vinyl release, it's nice to see that Solange's latest project is getting taken care of.

Described by Solange as "a project on identity, empowerment, independence, grief and healing," A Seat At The Table features guest appearances from Lil Wayne; Kelela; Kelly Rowland; Q-Tip; Tweet; The-Dream; Dev Hynes; and No Limit Records boss Master P. Seriously, check out the entire list of credits for the album (which also features contributions from Questlove and Raphael Saadiq).

"I feel like this is the album that I was destined to write for a long time," Solange said in an interview on her Saint Heron website. "My hope for this record is that it will channel and connect with whoever needs to feel empowered by the message."

So far A Seat At The Table has done just that. With the unveiling of the videos for "Cranes In The Sky" and "Don't Touch My Hair" — both of which were directed by herself and husband Alan Ferguson — Solange has redefined herself as an artist, and created something that is rich, insightful and inspiring.
