Smoke DZA Connects w/ Flying Lotus For A Three-Part Musical Endorsement Of Bernie Sanders
As the state of New York rushes polling stations to decide whether Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton will rep the Dems in the 2016 election, another pair of hip-hop heavyweights have shared a musical endorsement of the Brooklyn-born-and-bred presidential hopeful (Sanders.) Today, an election day that happens to fall just before the highest of holidays, Smoke DZA has taken to a trio of choice Flying Lotus productions to pledge his support for The Bern. The three-part track, "Outside My Mind | 4 -19 - 2026 | Petty Murphy," finds DZA mostly waxing poetic on his favorite subject (weed) but in that mid-section you can hear him give a quick "vote for Bernie" shout, even featuring Sanders on the song's artwork. And though it's about as a lightweight of an endorsement as Sanders has gotten from a member of the hip-hop community to date, it should remind even the most hopeless of stoner just how important this day is.
