Ishmael Butler, AKA 1/2 of Shabazz Palaces has taken Animal Collective's already out-there track "New Town Burnout" and turned it into a lengthy adventure through artsy hip hop. He really puts his own spin on it, with verses swimming over the beat sporadically. His repeated mantra of "out of my body, out of my mind" fits perfectly over the spacey track. The song comes from AC's forthcoming Monkey Been To Burn Town remix EP, which includes takes on their music from Gang Gang Dance, Teengirl Fantasy, and DJ Traxman. Stream below.
