RZA x Dr. Pepper Drop Free 'Only One Place To Go' EP
RZA lets us know that he's still got those legendary production styles with the release of a new EP Only One Place To Go, featuring a spry roster of young MCs and producers putting their best works forward over Bobby Digital's chops. The short-form album's opener "Making Moves" proves to be a smooth horn-driven cool-out groove with MMG's own Rockie Fresh putting in work, while the Tanashe-assisted follow up "Doctor" struts a synth-laden sound-bed of lo-fi sensibilities. Then we've got stripped-down pop-oriented bops like "Cruisin" -- which taps the likes of remix artist RAC -- and the project's Robert Delonge-aided closer "Egotist Enlightenment." Four very different shades of Prince Rakeem that convey precisely how prolific and dynamic the Wu-Tang architect really is.
